Our Ethos of Modularity: 1-Series

Engineered to Serve

At CH Precision, modularity is more than a design choice—it is a guiding philosophy. Most high-end products ask the listener to conform to fixed architectures, imposing their limitations as part of the experience. CH takes the opposite approach. Each component is conceived as an instrument of possibility, one that adapts to the listener rather than the other way around. Through carefully engineered flexibility, our products can be expanded, upgraded, or reconfigured without redundancy, ensuring that every stage of ownership preserves and builds upon the original investment. In this way, modularity is not simply convenience; it is a tool of freedom, making it possible for a system to evolve in step with the music lover’s journey.

This philosophy mirrors the culture of CH Precision itself: a team of engineers designing not for abstract theory, but for people whose rooms, systems, and aspirations are as individual as their musical tastes. By creating architectures that can be tailored, refined, and continuously evolved, we empower listeners to shape their systems around their own priorities—whether that means unlocking new performance levels, integrating new sources, or pursuing ultimate reference playback. The result is an experience that honors more than fidelity to the music: it honors fidelity to the listener, meeting them where they are today and carrying them as far as their passion for music will take them.

D1.5 Transport—Options & Configurability

Built around CH Precision’s proprietary MORSe transport mechanism, the D1.5 Transport is not just a disc player, but a configurable digital platform. Its card-cage output architecture allows the unit to be tailored precisely to the role it plays in a system—whether as a transport or as a complete player. Every D1.5 ships standard with the digital output board (CH-Link HD, S/PDIF, AES/EBU, TosLink), enabling direct integration with CH DACs or external converters.

From there, owners can expand its capabilities to suit their needs. Optional mono DAC boards transform the D1.5 into a reference-level CD/SACD player, complete with CH’s proprietary PEtER spline filter algorithm for the most natural digital conversion. A Clock Sync board allows seamless synchronization with a DAC’s master clock or with CH’s own T1 Time Reference, maximizing temporal accuracy across the chain. And for those seeking the greatest possible performance, the addition of an X1 external power supply elevates the transport still further, lowering the noise floor and enhancing microdynamic resolution.

C1.2 DAC—Options & Configurability

The C1.2 DAC is a state-of-the-art digital-to-analog converter defined as much by its flexibility as by its performance. Built on a modular architecture, it can operate as a dedicated DAC or expand into a complete system hub. Optional input boards—including Ethernet streaming, USB, and analogue inputs—allow the C1.2 to be configured precisely for a listener’s sources, with the freedom to add or exchange modules as the system evolves.

Clocking receives the same thoughtful attention. With the optional Clock Sync board, the C1.2 can lock to external references, including CH transports or the T1 master clock. This ensures vanishing jitter and preserves temporal accuracy across the entire digital chain.

This philosophy reflects CH Precision’s culture: engineering instruments not as fixed designs, but as adaptable platforms that serve the listener. In the C1.2, that culture becomes tangible—performance uncompromised, flexibility inherent, and music always at the center.

CH Precision P1 Dual Monaural Phono-Stage - Rear
P1 Phono Preamplifier—Options & Configurability

The P1 Phono Preamplifier is designed from the ground up, not as one-size-fits-all, but as an adaptable phono solution that grows with your system. With up to three permanently connected tonearms or turntables, multiple current-sensing and voltage-sensing inputs, and extensive gain and loading options, the P1 lets you match cartridge type, output level, and system conditions with precision. What’s more, EQ curves are selectable—with the built-in RIAA, optional classic curves (EMI, Columbia, Decca, Teldec), even a Neumann pole—for faithful playback of original pressings and diverse grooves.

Beyond these configurables, the P1 supports system evolution. You can begin with the single-chassis stereo setup, add an X1 External Power Supply for greater dynamic headroom, and later scale to the True Monaural configuration (one chassis per channel) with a second audio chassis. For those pursuing ultimate channel isolation and the lowest possible noise, a full four-box solution with twin X1s provides complete separation. All of this is achieved without compromising the core performance—each expansion builds on the fidelity foundation already in place.

L1 Line Preamplifier—Options & Configurability

The L1 Line Preamplifier is conceived as a platform—delivering reference-level stereo performance while retaining the flexibility to evolve alongside the system it anchors. In its standard form, the L1 offers dual-mono audio circuitry within a single chassis, supported by an integrated power supply designed for exceptionally low noise and stability.

For those seeking even greater performance, the L1 can be elevated with the addition of an X1 external power supply. In this configuration, the L1’s internal supply is bypassed in favor of the oversized, ultra-low-noise architecture of the X1. The result is an even lower noise floor, enhanced transparency, and greater retrieval of microdynamic and spatial detail. The L1 thus combines adaptability with enduring relevance—a preamplifier capable of scaling from a single chassis to a system-level reference, while always preserving musical integrity at its core.

1-Series Power Amplifiers—Options & Configurability

Every CH Precision 1-Series amplifier—the A1.5 Power Amplifier and M1.1 Amplifier—is conceived as a platform, engineered for versatility as much as for uncompromising performance. Out of the box, each operates as a stereo amplifier, with additional modes—Mono, Bi-Amp, and Bridged—selectable directly from the front panel.

In Bi-Amp mode, both inputs remain active within each chassis. This configuration can be employed passively with loudspeakers that offer separate terminals for low and high frequencies, or actively when external crossovers are used.

For those seeking even greater performance, the architecture allows conversion to twin-chassis mono: the right-channel input board from one amplifier is transferred to a second chassis, creating two fully independent mono amplifiers—one dedicated to each channel. This brings higher power, greater control, and enhanced channel separation. Bridged mode is also available, delivering doubled output drive when maximum power is required.

This flexible design ensures that both the A1.5 and M1.1 can grow with the system they serve—from a single stereo chassis to a fully optimized multi-amplifier configuration—always protecting both performance and investment.

CH Precision I1 Universal Integrated Amplifier - Rear-Edit
I1 Integrated Amplifier—Options & Configurability

The I1 is one of the most versatile components CH has ever created, combining linestage and power amplification in a single chassis, with the freedom to add a DAC and phono stage as options. Its modular design allows the I1 to be configured precisely to the listener’s system—beginning as a pure integrated amplifier and, if desired, evolving into a complete control center.

Four digital inputs are available with the optional Digital Input board—CH-Link HD, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, and TosLink—and a second identical board can be added for even greater connectivity. An optional USB board enables direct computer playback, while the Ethernet Streaming board supports network audio, UPnP, Roon, and streaming services like Qobuz and TIDAL via CH’s proprietary, low-jitter architecture. For maximum temporal accuracy, the optional Clock Sync board allows the I1 to act as a master or to lock to an external reference such as the T1.

Analog flexibility is equally broad. The I1 can be fitted with an Analog Input board, or expanded with a Phono boardthat transforms one or both RCA inputs into current-sensing MC phono stages, complete with selectable EQ curves for RIAA, eRIAA, Decca, Columbia, EMI, and Teldec.

This breadth of options means the I1 can serve as a simple but state-of-the-art integrated amplifier, or expand into a sophisticated hub with digital, analog, and phono inputs—all within a single chassis. In every configuration, its modularity reflects CH Precision’s ethos: instruments that adapt to the listener’s needs and grow with their aspirations, never standing still.

T1 Time Reference—GPS Board

The T1 Time Reference can be further elevated with the optional GPS board, allowing them to lock to satellite-based timing signals. This upgrade provides long-term accuracy that remains stable for years, ensuring a reference that is both uncompromising and enduring.

For CH Precision, this option is more than a technical refinement—it is an expression of our culture. We pursue precision not as an abstract goal, but as a way to protect the listener’s connection to music. By anchoring our clocks to the most stable reference available, we extend that pursuit to its furthest horizon: preserving temporal truth as faithfully tomorrow as it is today.

CH Precision T1 Time Reference
Created for the Journey

CH Precision’s approach to modularity is without precedent in high-end audio. The freedom to configure and expand each product is possible only because of the depth of engineering skill within our team. Every option—whether an input board, a clock module, or a path to true monaural operation—is conceived and executed in-house. This matters to us because it ensures that nothing limits performance or compromises the pursuit of musical truth.

Just as important, modularity reflects our culture of progression. CH systems are created not as fixed endpoints, but as instruments that can grow with their owners. Whether adding functionality, refining performance, or expanding into dual-mono architectures, every step is anticipated, every investment preserved. This is what makes CH Precision unique: products that not only set benchmarks today, but continue to evolve in step with the listener’s needs and aspirations tomorrow.
