CH Precision APP for iOS Guide

Complete Control
The CH Controller operates as a full-featured remote control for CH Precision systems. Users can adjust settings, select inputs, change volume, mute outputs, and manage playback functions in real time. The app mirrors the operational logic of CH components themselves, ensuring continuity between the hardware interface and the mobile experience.
Rather than introducing a separate control philosophy, the CH Controller preserves the structure and logic of the components it manages, allowing users to move naturally between front-panel operation and app-based control.
Devices List Screen
At launch, the app displays CH Precision devices currently available on the local network. This is the system’s main entry point and provides an immediate view of connected components. Device discovery is automatic and can also be refreshed manually by pulling down the list. Online units appear as they are detected. Devices no longer on the network remain visible with offline status. The list can be filtered to show only online devices and organized by room in systems with multiple setups. Each device entry also includes swipe actions for basic commands, including power on and off.

Status Screen
The Status screen reflects the current display of the selected device. It provides an immediate view of operating state while keeping core controls close at hand. Depending on the device, this screen provides access to functions such as volume, input selection, and digital transport controls for compatible D Series components. It also provides entry to device settings, combining status display and direct control in a single view.

Device Settings
The Device Settings screen provides access to the configuration of the selected device. Component settings, volume behavior, input setup and naming, gain settings, and other device-specific functions are available here. Because CH components support extensive configuration, this screen also allows each unit to be adjusted in relation to the larger system. Firmware notifications appear here as well, making Device Settings the main point of access for configuration and maintenance.

Music Servers
For devices fitted with the optional CH Streaming HD card, the app provides streaming functions. The Music Servers screen lists UPnP/DLNA media servers available on the local network and serves as the starting point for browsing music stored on them. The selected server’s content is presented according to its own organization of albums, playlists, and tracks. From there, albums or selected tracks can be added to the play queue.

Play Queue
The Play Queue screen manages music playback within the app. It shows the current track, the remaining queue, and the structure of the active listening session. Albums, playlists, and individual tracks selected from a music server can be added to the current queue or used to replace it. Playback can then be shaped directly from that material, whether by building a queue progressively, reordering or removing tracks, or beginning again from a new selection.

Preferences
The Preferences screen, accessible from the Devices List, contains the app’s general settings. It governs broader interface and behavior options, including system phase control display, firmware update behavior, and permission for certain controls to appear on the Status screen, including mute, mono, and phase.

Music, Setup, and Control
Beyond day-to-day control, the CH Controller app provides direct access to the advanced setup options of every CH Precision product in the current catalog. Device settings, operating modes, and system configuration can be adjusted within the app, enabling precise management of both single-component and multi-component systems.
Operating over a standard local Ethernet network, the app automatically discovers compatible CH Precision components connected to the same network and presents them in a unified system view. Multiple devices can therefore be carried out coherently through a single interface, simplifying both installation and long-term system use.
The app is designed for iPad and iPhone. Starting with iPadOS/iOS 17+, iPadOS/iOS 26 is recommended.
